ClearWatt is building the confidence layer for the used EV market.

We provide battery health testing, EV diagnostics and real-world EV insights to consumers, dealers and enterprise partners across the UK. Our technology is helping bring transparency and trust to one of the fastest-growing areas of the automotive industry.

We’re now looking for a Full Stack Developer to help build the next generation of EV software, data products and AI-powered experiences.

About the role:

This is a broad, hands-on startup development role.

You’ll work across our customer platform, dealer portal, APIs, AI products and internal tools. One week you might be building new features inside Wattson, the next integrating with automotive partners, improving our battery diagnostics platform or developing tools that help our operations team work more efficiently.

We’re a small team, so you’ll have real ownership from day one. You’ll work closely with the founders, product team and commercial team, helping shape both the product and the technology behind it.

We’re also embracing AI throughout our development workflow. We care far more about building great products quickly than whether code was written by you, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT.

What you’ll be doing:

Building and maintaining customer-facing web applications
Developing backend services and APIs
Designing and implementing new product features from concept to deployment
Working with AI development tools to accelerate delivery
Collaborating with product, operations and commercial teams to solve customer problems
Integrating with third-party APIs and automotive platforms
Improving application performance, reliability and scalability
Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
Helping shape our technical direction as the business grows

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is:

An experienced full stack developer
Comfortable working across frontend and backend technologies
Curious about AI and excited by modern development workflows
Comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies quickly
Pragmatic and focused on solving problems rather than following dogma
Happy working in a fast-moving startup environment
Proactive and willing to take ownership
Interested in technology and/or electric vehicles

Experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL and cloud platforms would be beneficial, but attitude, adaptability and problem-solving ability are more important than experience with any particular framework.
